slight change of plan

so right now we should be on our way to Zimbabwe enjoying the luxury of a people carrier and cheesy music. However Jills car is still not fixed, the part that came from Australia on Thursday was faulty, so instead we are still in Beira, and probably getting a chappa tomorrow morning at FOUR O'CLOCK! madness! but we will deffinately be in Harare at some point tomorrow!
So since I am here I can tell you all about our lovely Christmas party that we had at Lees on wednesday. We had planned a day of games, biscuit decorating, games, singing, games and making christmas trees out of the kids handprints, so on tuesday morning we bought and prepared all our resources, including forty cards to hide for a treasuree hunt (four sets of Feliz Natal in different colour, very pretty). Wednesday morning I went to pack my bag and couldn't find the cards anywhere! Typical me, i know i had purt them in a sesible place where i wouldnt forget to take them, and had cleverly forgotten where it was. i turned my room upside down, looked in the bin, under matresses, everywhere. In the end just grapped any scraps of coloured paper i could find and legged it to the oasis prayer meeting. The meeting was the last one before closing for christmas so we had cake and juice and played jenga which went on forever and ever, it was amazing! But we were panicking as lee was picking us up at eleven and we had to go back to the others house to pick up stuff, write out words to christmas songs and remake the cards, we finally escaped from the office at twenty past 11 with half an hour before we would have to leave their house. But being GAT girls we got everyhting done, and were back in town by 11! It was quite an acheivment. Nicely Lee was running late so we got to relazx with a drink for a bit.
The party went really well, even the treadsure hunt, so maybe few of the cards blew away buitthey all had fun and enjoyed their prizes. The christmas tree making was really cool, I drew round little Ines hand and then she flipped over the paper and drew one of her ownb, it was so cute lee loved it. I have lots of random pictures that the kids took, including of amber and sohphie dancing and be having my hair plaitted, it was much fun!
We had our last english lesson in Vaz on thursday, Ambs and Soph had prepared a special Christmas lesson for their church which they never used so we did it a tVaz which was fun, reading out the christmas story in Ebglish and getting them to stand up whenever they heard certain words. One ppoor laddy had the word mary and she had never been to an english lesson before, but she kept smiling. I found the msissing cards that morning, they were in my bag all along, of course, so we did the trerasure hunt there as well. I dont think Valentin really understood though as once he had found the biscuits prixze he kept on looking for something, despite us explaining that they were the prize, I want to know what else he was looking for!
Soo yet again HAPPY CHRISTMAS rachelxxxx

you are certainly living life at a fast, almost breathtaking speed - but obviously having so much fun as well. Those children are going to be very unhappy to see you all go home at the end of your stay!! I'm sure you will all have even more fun over Christmas in Harare (if you get up in time) we'll look forward to hearing all about it. Lots of Christmassy hugs, from Gwamma and Poppa xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello lovely girl: Happy Christmas from the Marks!!!

Glad to hear you are having a wonderful time, and keeping busy! We have come down to derby for a flying visit to see grandma and poppa. Had a lovely lunch then heading back to North Yorkshire. We have taken some funny photos of grandma in here cracker hat and been having races with wind up toys out of the crackers!!!

Douglas is home at the moment so we are all together for christmas. Although he is hoping to go away in January to do the ski season - however we are not sure where he will go or when.

Well we will close with a joke we got from a cracker: How do snails keep their shells shiny...

    With Snail Varnish!!!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and have a fantastic christmas, big hugs and lots of love Sarah, Douglas, Hannah and Henry.xxx
